Have this ready

• A photo. The pile, the room, the driveway — whatever there is.
• Where it is. Ground floor, upstairs, backyard, behind a gate.
• Roughly how much. A few items, a room, a whole house.
• Any deadline. Closing date, move-out, inspection, code notice.
• Access notes. Gate width, stairs, no truck turnaround, HOA rules.

If it is a whole-property job

Estate cleanouts and hoarding jobs are scoped differently and usually want a conversation rather than a form. Call and describe it — these are hard to quote from a photo, because the volume is rarely visible from a doorway and the scheduling matters as much as the price.

What happens after you get in touch

1. You describe the load, ideally with a photo.
2. You get a ballpark based on how much of a truck it looks like.
3. A time gets set. Same-day is often possible for single items and small loads.
4. The number is confirmed on site, once someone can actually see it.
5. It gets carried out and loaded. You do not move anything to the curb.

That confirm-on-site step is not a bait and switch, and you should expect it from anyone reputable — a phone quote is an estimate made without seeing the job, and the firm number comes when someone is standing in front of the pile. What you should not accept is a number that moves after the truck is already loaded.

Most people do, and for this work it is genuinely better. A photo answers the only question that really determines the price.
